![]() I really feel like I woke up one morning and fell into 2018. Between taking 2 trips in December, and working on multiple projects, January crept up on me, and to be honest, I was not ready. The month is almost over, and it feels as though I have spent all January preparing for 2018. Yes, very backwards. I have spent these last 3 weeks decluttering my home, my life, and my thoughts.

![]() I remember just around this time last year, how I sat and created health goals for myself. Little did I know that those health goals would be contagious. By contagious, I mean, my husband organically adopting those goals. You see, I started this yoga journey on my own. This journey gave me something to look forward to after a long stressful day at work. But little did I know that this journey would also make a lasting impact on another individual. My husband. Max never cared too much for yoga, for bone and muscle health, nor was he a health freak (not that we're now health freaks). He did not eat out, he was moderately active, he is not a smoker, or a drinker, but that was about it. However, now, he seems to be quite the opposite. For about 7 months now, he's been getting up preparing fresh vegetable and fruit juice for us. We consume fresh juice every morning as part of our breakfast. We NEVER eat out, unless we're out on a date, and we make it a habit to be very intentional about keeping an active lifestyle. Sounds like a lot, huh? Well, just ONE year ago, this was not the case for us. We knew nothing about juicing, and very little about yoga. Crazy to think the difference one year can make. ![]() Before I get into this, I would like to say that the idea of converting my garage into a yoga studio came about while I was cleaning out my garage. I noticed the empty space that is never used. The yogi in me quickly became intrigued by the space. All of a sudden, my mind went to yoga. What a nice space this would be to do yoga. Hot yoga at that (which I love), since the garage is naturally hot. Later that evening, as I was finishing up cleaning the garage, my husband returned home from work, and I casually ran the idea by him. I had no real intentions of actually doing this. After hearing the idea, he was all for it. He jumped right in the day after. In two days, we no longer just had a garage. We had a comfortable yoga studio for under 200 dollars. ![]() Wow, just a few months ago, my body had no idea what it felt like to balance on its toes, feet, or shoulders. At one point, I truly believed that my body wasn't made for yoga. I owe these results to goal setting! The moment I started setting goals, I started to see an immense amount of change physically, and mentally. I am excited for these next couple of months, and the goals I have set for my body. Here are 3 of the goals I am focusing on… ![]() I cannot help but to smile as I prepare my thoughts for this post. 2015 was great and I am looking forward for all the adventures and opportunities 2016 will bring. I am excited for a year of growth, adventures, and lots of change. Last year, I was put in many positions to grow. I moved to a new state, traveled quite a bit, tried something new with my career (going from being a public school teacher to a charter school teacher), and celebrated the marriage of my mom. With that being said, many things changed in 2015, and those changes were only for the better. |
