I will try to keep it short, since we have a video that will give you a pretty good idea of how our trip went.
Recently, Max and I took our first trip to Haiti (my homeland). We were filled with all kinds of emotions. Excited, happy, and scared.
We did not know what to expect. Our emotions were a mixture of outside sources and information we read online about Haiti. Many people were scared for us. We heard all the stories about kidnapping, robbing, and even killing. However, we decided to still go for it, LOL! The moment we started second guessing this trip was when we were at the airport. A little too late to back out, right? When we told our cab driver we were going to Haiti, he was very shocked, and word by word he told us, "Haiti is not a vacation spot, please be careful out there." Just when I thought it could not get worse, I met a young airline attendant. We started talking, and as soon as she learned that we were going to Haiti, the look on her face said it all. Like the cab driver, she warned us to be very careful.
